USAID helping Pakistani mango exporters become more competitive internationally

Islamabad, July 24, 2017 At the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) “Mango Gala” today,  USAID Mission Director Jerry Bisson and Chairman Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) Dr. Yusuf Zafar paved the way for 13 mango farmers to receive  mango graders worth more than $750,000, which will greatly increase Pakistan’s mango production and exports.

U.S. funded PhD scholars return aiming to transform education in Pakistan

Islamabad, October 19, 2016 – Twenty Four PhD scholars who received their degrees in the United States with U.S. government assistance shared their experiences at an event in Islamabad.  Upon graduation, the scholars returned to Pakistan to serve as faculty members at Pakistani universities. 

In total, the U.S. government through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) funded 35 scholars to receive their PhD degrees in education.

USAID holds graduation ceremony for 98 aspiring teachers from Gilgit-Baltistan

Gilgit, September 08, 2016 – On September 8, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) held a graduation ceremony for 98 talented students enrolled in the two-year Associate Degree in Education (ADE) in Gilgit-Baltistan.  The Minister for Education and Information, and the Secretary of Education for Gilgit-Baltistan both attended the ceremony.

USAID-funded Pakistan Reading Project Sponsoring 4th Annual Islamabad Literature Festival 2016

ISLAMABAD, April 15, 2016–The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) –funded Pakistan Reading Projectis sponsoringthe fourth annual Islamabad Literature Festival (ILF) at LokVirsaon April 15-17, 2016. The Pakistan Reading Project has set up a stall at the festival to highlight the importance of reading and a mobile bus library to bring age appropriate reading materials to the children, parents and teachers at the festival.

Arizona State University facilitates 3-Day Energy Policy Workshop

Islamabad, March 3, 2016 – As part of the U.S.-Pakistan Centers for Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCAS-E), Arizona State University (ASU) organized a three-day training workshop on Energy Policy and Leadership in Islamabad March 1-3, 2016. Over 80 engineering students and faculty from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar participated in the workshop, which was facilitated by Professor Clark Miller from ASU and representatives from Pakistan’s energy sector. 

Recent Graduates Gain Energy Sector Experience through USAID Internship Program

 Islamabad - The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) held a ceremony today marking the successful completion of a six-month Energy Sector Internship Program that provided recent energy-degree graduates with on-the-job experience and skills training.
