Pakistan, Turkey agree to boost ties in diverse fields

ISLAMABAD:May 22, 2012 - Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed to boost bilateral relations in diverse fields, particularly security, energy, communication, trade and culture, while co-chairing the second meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council (HLCC) on Tuesday.

ISLAMABAD - 21 May 2012-Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his address to a joint sitting of the Pakistani Parliament here on Monday termed the economic progress essential for strengthening of the democratic process.
In his second address to Pakistan’s Parliament, the visiting Turkish prime minister said democracy can never be established with ease and described the people as its biggest source of strength.

“Parliament represents the people and no one can stand in front of it,” he asserted.

ترکی کے وزیرِ اعظم رجب طیب اردوان نے کہا ہے کہ پاکستان اور اُن کے ملک کے درمیان دیرینہ تعلقات ہیں اور ہر مشکل گھڑی میں ان کا ملک پاکستان کے شانہ بشانہ کھڑا رہا ہے۔
اُنھوں نے ان خیالات کا اظہار پیر کی شام اسلام آباد میں پاکستانی پارلیمان کے مشترکہ اجلاس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا، جس میں ملک کی فوجی قیادت، غیر ملکی سفارت کار اور اہم صوبائی اراکین پارلیمان بھی موجود تھے۔
رجب طیب اردوان نے ترک زبان میں اپنے خطاب میں کہا کہ کسی بھی ملک میں جمہوریت کے استحکام میں حزب اختلاف کا کردار بہت نمایاں ہوتا ہے۔

ترکی میں فوجی بغاوت کی سازش کے حوالے سے کرنل گرفتار

ترکی میں فوج کے ایک کرنل کو حکومت کو عدم استحکام سے دوچار کرنے کی ایک سازش میں ملوث ہونے کے الزام میں گرفتار کر لیا گیا ہے۔ خبر رساں ادارے روئٹرز کے مطابق استغاثہ کا کہنا ہے کہ فوج کے بعض اراکین کی تیار کردہ اِس سازش کا مقصد مسیحی باشندوں اور دیگر اقلیتوں سے تعلق رکھنے والے افراد کو قتل کر کے اُن کی ہلاکت کا الزام اسلام پسندوں پر لگانا تھا۔ ترکی میں اس سازش کی تفصیلات سب سے پہلے 2009 ء کے اواخر میں منظر عام پر آئی تھیں۔ ترکی میں وزیر اعظم رجب طیب ایردوآن کی حکومت کو اقتدار سے بے دخل کرنے کی متعدد سازشوں کے الزام میں سینکڑوں فوجی اراکین، اساتذہ، صحافی اور وکلاء زیر حراست ہیں۔

Turkish PM arrives ISLAMABAD

Islamabad—MAY 20-2012-Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan would be arriving today (Sunday) on a three day official visit to the country on the invitation of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.The Turkish Prime Minister will be accompanied by the First Lady and high-powered delegation.

During his visit, the Turkish Prime Minister will address the joint session of the Parliament on Monday.

Pak-Turk economic partnership to be promoted in Punjab: Shahbaz

LAHORE: Pakistanintheworld.com Report; May 06-2012-- Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that Turkey is the second rapidly progressing economy of the world and economic activities will be promoted in Punjab province through increasing economic contacts with Turkish business institutions.

Turkish Airlines, Turkey’s national flag carrier was founded in Ankara on May 20, 1933 under the name of “State Airlines Administration” and started its operations depending on Ministry of Defense. In 1955, it was restructured into “Turkish Airlines”. 25% of the company is sold under the privatization program in 2005. Today 49.1 % of the company is owned by Privatization Administration and the rest of the shares are on free float.


ISLAMABAD 24 FEBRUARY 2012:  First Batch of three F-16 Block 15 MLU(Mid Life Upgrade) aircraft have arrived from Ankara, Turkey. Theaircraft which were earlier sent to TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries)for Mid Life Upgrade and have been delivered to PAF on time. InOctober 2010, PAF had signed a contract with TAI to upgrade all its F-16 Block 15 aircraft. Under the Peace Drive II program, TAI is performing avionics and structural modernization of F-16 aircraft that are on the inventory of Pakistan Air Force since 1982-83 and the project is planned to be completed by September 2014.

Turkey delivers modernized F-16 aircraft to Pakistan

He was accompanied by the Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Mr. Babur Hizlan. A team of IPRI scholars led by Acting President Dr. Maqsudul Hasan Nuri had a discussion with the visitors on the South Asia region, particularly Afghanistan, and the role of Turkey. Mr. Babur Girgin explained that to Turkey, the South Asia region includes all countries from Iran to Bangladesh.
