Pakistan sponsors Clean Drinking Water Supply Projects in remote villages of Sri Lanka

Colombo -The government of Pakistan through its High Commission in Colombo has funded the construction of two clean drinking water supply projects for the vulnerable communities in Kodapokuna Village of Polonnaruwa District in the Northern Central Province of Sri Lanka.

Pakistani students in Sri Lanka on a Goodwill visit

Colombo: A 22-member student delegation of Pakistan National College of Arts which is on a goodwill visit to Sri Lanka from 23 January to 1 February 2014, visited the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, today .

While, welcoming the delegation, the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Major Gen(R) Qasim Qureshi highlighted that Pakistan has a dynamic and vibrant society with more than 3,000 years old civilization. The country has produced a number of renowned artists, painters, musicians and poets which speaks volumes of its cultural diversity, he added.

The Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan arrives Sri Lanka

Colombo (Diplomatic Desk) The Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq who arrived on a 2 days bilateral visit to Sri Lanka was received by Deputy Speaker of Sri Lankan Parliament Chandima Weerakkody on his arrival. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will call on his counterpart Chamal Rajapaksa, today
and observe the ongoing proceedings of Sri Lankan Parliament besides meeting with the members of Sri Lanka Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Association.

Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan arrives in Sri Lanka

Colombo(Diplomatic Desk)Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan, Hon Sardar Ayaz Sadiq arrived in Sri Lanka today (19th December 2013) on a two days official visit, undertaken on the invitation of Sri Lanka’s Speaker of Parliament Hon Chamal Rajapaksa. The invitation was conveyed by the Deputy Speaker of Sri Lankan Parliament Chandima Weerakkody, during his recent visit to Pakistan.

Pakistani Naval Ships PNS NASR and PNS Khaiber in Sri Lanka on a Goodwill visit

Colombo (Defense Reporter) Pakistan Naval Ships PNS NASR and Khyber will be arriving at Colombo Port on a goodwill visit from 27th to 30th October 2013,PNS NASR is a leading unit of Pakistani Navy Fleet’s 9th Auxiliary and Mine Warfare Squadron. Its name, an Arabic word meaning “HELP”, denotes its combat support role vital for sustained naval operations at sea. The ship in addition also undertakes long range helicopter operations with anti-ship missile and torpedoes.

Pakistan awards prestigious Jinnah Scholarship 2013 to 150 brilliant Sri Lankan Students

Colombo ( Monitoring Desk )The Government of Pakistan through its High Commission in Sri Lanka has awarded SL Rs 3 Million worth of educational scholarships today to 150 bright Sri Lankan students of O/L and A/L under Jinnah Scholarship Programme 2013.

Under the auspices of High Commission of Pakistan, Colombo, award ceremony of Jinnah Educational Scholarship 2013 was held at the Ananda College Auditorium.
