Pakistan's Navy chief calls on Sri Lankan President and Premier

Colombo: June 14, 2017-The Chief of Naval Staff of the Pakistan Navy, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, who is currently in Sri Lanka on an official visit, called on President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s official residence and Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe at Temple Trees today.

PAKISTAN SRI LANKA TO ENHANCE DEFENCE COOPERATION

Islamabad (Staff Reporter) Pakistan and Sri Lanka on Tuesday decided to enhance defence cooperation. This understanding reached during a call on of High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Maj. Gen (Retd) Jayanath Lokuketagodage and Federal Minister of Defence Production (MoDP) Rana Tanveer Hussain. They exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and enhancing cooperation in defence production.

Pakistan Awards Fully Funded Scholarships to Sri Lankan Students in Medicine and Dentistry

Colombo-The Government of Pakistan has awarded fully funded higher education scholarships to six Sri Lankan students, five in the field of Medicine and one in Dentistry.The High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Maj Gen ® Qasim Qureshi met the selected students at the High Commission of Pakistan and congratulated them on their selection for higher education in Pakistan.

In addition to the higher education scholarships, every year Government of Pakistan awards Jinnah Educational Scholarships to hundreds of Sri Lankan students of O/L and A/L.

Pakistan Awards Fully Funded Engineering Scholarships to Sri Lankan Students

Colombo: The Government of Pakistan has awarded fully funded higher professional Engineering Scholarships to three Sri Lankan students under the Higher Education Scholarship Programme for 2014. 

The High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka H.E Maj Gen ® Qasim Qureshi met the selected students at the High Commission of Pakistan and congratulated them on their selection for higher education in Pakistan.

Pakistan to Build 220 Houses for Homeless Sri Lankans

Colombo - Pakistan has initiated a housing project to assist Sri Lanka in the rehabilitation of war affected homeless people of the Northern Province. In this regard, the High Commissioner of Pakistan Maj. Gen. (R) Qasim Qureshi, handed over a cheque of US $ One Million to the Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Basil Rajapaksa at the Temple Trees in the presence of Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr. Rishad Bathiudeen.

 

PAKISTANI CARS HANDED OVER TO SRI LANKAN ARMY

Colombo-The Secretary Defense Sri Lanka Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa handed over 100 Pakistani manufactured Toyota Altis Cars to Sri Lankan Army Commander Lt Gen Daya Ratnayake and IG Police Mr Illangakoon for utilising as Staff Cars in the presence of Pakistani High Commissioner to Sri Lanka HE Maj Gen (R) Qasim Qureshi at Ministry of Defence and Urban Development Sri Lanka on 19th Feb 2014.
