Water Research -Pak-Korea National Capacity Building Institute (NCBI) Inaugurated

Islamabad (Staff Reporter) The inaugural ceremony of Pak-Korea National Capacity Building Institute (NCBI) was held at Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) Headquarters, Islamabad. Minister of State for Science and Technology, Mir Dostain Khan Domki and His Excellency Ambassador, Republic of Korea Mr. Jin-Wook Kim jointly inaugurated the newly constructed building of NCBI. The project has been completed with Korean grant-in-aid of Rs. 258 million.

SOUTH KOREA WOULD ESTABLISH ADVANCED IT PARK IN ISLAMABAD FOR SMEs

Islamabad (Commerce Reporter ) H.E. Dr. Song Jong-Hwan, Ambassador of South Korea said that Korea would establish one of the biggest and most advanced IT Park in Islamabad at an area of about 1 million square feet to promote SMEs as the facility would provide SMEs and start-ups in IT industry with office spaces equipped with advanced IT infrastructure and security facilities.

Islamabad (Staff Reporter) Federal Minister for Finance, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar while addressing the Seminar on “Economic Development and National Cohesion” organized by the Embassy of Republic of Korea and the Institute for Policy Reforms emphasized that economic development is the basic element to win the people’s confidence. Poverty on the other hand breeds public discontent which threatens the unity of a nation.

PAK - KOREA SIGN FRAMEWORK ARRANGEMENT AMOUNTING TO US$500 MILLION

Islamabad - Pakistan and Republic of Korea signed a Framework Arrangement amounting to US$500 million here on Friday.

Korean OAK Commercial Agricultural Farming Signs MoU with PARC

  Islamabad-July 25-The Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and the Korean OAK Commercial Agricultural Farming (OAKS CAF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here for promotion of agriculture cooperation between the two organizations.

The agreement was signed at PARC headquarters by the representatives of both the organizations. 

Pak-Korea Workshop on Employment Permit System

Islamabad (Staff Reporter) A two days “National Workshop on the Review and Implementation of the Inter-Ministerial MOU between Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Republic of Korea” organized by International Labor Organization (ILO), Government of Pakistan, Republic of Korea and Overseas Employment Cooperation (OEC) ended here today.

Korea to spend $2b on two hydropower projects

LAHORE – December 25, 2012- Two memorandum of understanding were signed on Monday among the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, the Wapda and Korean firms to develop two hydropower projects in public-private partnership mode with cumulative power generation capacity of 1,161 mega watt.

A statement said that the milestone had been achieved as a result of recent visit of President Asif Ali Zardari to Korea.

Pakistan eying for FTA with South Korea

ISLAMABAD, Dec 6 (DNA): President Asif Ali Zardari’s recent visit to South Korea will pave way for initiation of talks for a Free Trade Agreement and significantly increase bilateral trade between the two countries. Pakistan is eying for Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with South Korea.

Introduction; The Ambassador of Netherlands-- Hugo Gajus Scheltema--

Ambassador Scheltema was born in New York and studied law at the University of Leiden before entering the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1979.He served in different countries, including as Ambassador in Slovakia and Jordan, and as former Personal Adviser to the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, Mr Max van der Stoel. In 2007-2008 he was political advisor to the Commander ISAF-South in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Before his arrival in Islamabad he held the position of Consul General in New York.
