65th anniversary of Pak-Russian diplomatic relations celebrated - Our country is ready to establish multilateral political and economic relations -Ambassador Andrey Budnik

Islamabad ( Staff Reporter+DNA ) Islamabad was warmed up last night by the celebrating of 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia Federation and Pakistan.

Former Prime Minster Syed Yusif Raza Gilani was the Guest of Honour and Andrey Budnik, the Ambassador of Russian federation was Chief Guest of the event.

Govt gives ‘cold shoulder’ response to Russian national day event

ISLAMABAD (Staff Reporter+DNA) The government of Pakistan gave a cold shoulder response to the Russian national day reception by sending an advisor as the chief guest, diplomatic course revealed to DNA on Friday.

As per details, the Russian embassy was expecting a high profile chief guest along with a couple of other key ministers as they had sent invitation to many ministers but govt instead chose to send prime minister advisor on water and power Dr. Mussadiq Malik, who also served as caretaker water and power minister.

Russian Business Council for Cooperation with Pakistan seeks long term trade ties

Pakistan, Russia to continue cooperation for regional peace

ISLAMABAD, FEB 28 (DNA) -Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and Chairman Senate Nayyar Bukhari Thursday met Ms. Valentina I. Matvienko, Chairperson of the Federal Council (Senate) of the Russian Federation. Both leaders pledged to continue cooperation for regional peace.

The discussions on the occasion spanned the wide spectrum of Pakistan-Russia bilateral relations as well as important regional and international issues.

Russian Defence Minister cancels Delhi visit 'to welcome Gen Kayani in Moscow'

New Delhi: Indian authorities were taken a back after the last minute cancellation of Russian defence minister’s visit to New Delhi starting from Thursday.
The India-Russia inter-governmental commission on military-technical cooperation between defence minister AK Antony and his Russian counterpart Anatoly Serdyukov was scheduled to take stock of the defence relations.

Pakistan‚ Russia agree to enhance Bilateral Cooperation- Russia supports Pakistan’s stance on drone strikes

ISLAMABAD, Oct 4 (Nazia Hussain) Russia backed Pakistan’s stance against the drone strikes and termed it violation of the country’s sovereignty and integrity. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov in a joint press stakeout with Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar expressed the views as the two held discussions at the Foreign Office here. “It is not right to violate the sovereignty and integrity of any state. We fully support Pakistan’s stance,” the Russian foreign minister said, concluding his two-day visit to Islamabad.

General Kayani given warm welcome in Moscow

MOSCOW, OCT 03 (Monitoring Desk+DNA): Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani has been given warm welcome as he landed in Moscow on a historical visit to Russia.He was received by Deputy Commander In-Chief of Russian Armed Forces at the airport. A contingent of Russian army gave guard of honour at tehe airport. Kayani would call on President Viladi Mir Putin during his visit.

Kayani is the first ever Pakistan army chief to visit Kremlin. He would meet Russian civil and military leadership. He was invited by his counterpart General Nikolai Makarov.

Russian FM’s visit to cement bilateral ties

ISLAMABAD, OCT 03 (Staff Reporter+DNA): Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov arrived in Islamabad Wednesday evening on a two- day official visit for bilateral consultations, Pakistani television reported.He will hold talks with his Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar on Thursday, the Foreign Ministry said.

Lavrov is also scheduled to meet Pakistani President and Prime Minister. The visit will provide an opportunity to further expand and intensify the existing mutually beneficial bilateral ties, the Foreign Ministry said.

Gen Kayani off to Moscow, Russian FM due today

RAWALPINDI, OCT 02 (Staff Reporter+DNA): Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani will fly to Russia on a four-day visit on Wednesday, while Russian foreign minister is due to arrive Islamabad on Wednesday on two-day visit.

It will be the first official visit of any Army chief of Pakistan to Moscow. During the visit General Kayani will meet Russian Army Chief of General Staff General Nikolai Makarov and military officials. General Kayani will discuss Pak-Russia military and defence ties.
