Pakistan, Russia agree to take bilateral ties to new level

ASTANA, June 10, (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif held a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin wherein both the leaders reaffirmed their desire to take the bilateral relations to the next level by enhancing cooperations in multiple spheres.

During the meeting took place here on the sidelines of the SCO Summit, the two leaders took a comprehensive review of bilateral relations.

RUSSIA SIGNS LARGEST CONTRACT IN ENERGY SECTOR IN THE HISTORY OF BILATERAL RELATIONS

Islamabad - The Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak visited Islamabad on October 15-16, 2015, where he held bilateral talks with the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Sh.H.Abbasi, and was also received by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif.

NAWAZ - MODI MEETING BREAKS ICE BETWEEN PAKISTAN AND INDIA

UFA, Russia : The Prime Ministers of Pakistan and India met today on the sidelines of the SCO Summit in Ufa. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere. The two leaders exchanged views on issues of bilateral and regional interest.

They agreed that India and Pakistan have a collective responsibility to ensure peace and promote development. To do so, they are prepared to discuss all outstanding issues. 

Both leaders condemned terrorism in all its forms and agreed to cooperate with each other to eliminate this menace from South Asia. 

BRICS summit: War against terror not just for Pakistan but for region's security, says Nawaz

UFA, RUSSIA: Speaking at the seventh BRICS summit, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Thursday that Pakistan’s fighting against terrorism was not solely for Pakistan’s safety but for the whole region.

“Pakistan’s fight against terrorism, including the military operation (Zarb-e-Azb), is not merely for the protection of Pakistan but it is equally critical for the whole region as well as international community,” Nawaz said.

Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan Make Alliance

Moscow - Russia has joined four ex-Soviet nations in creating a new alliance aimed at boosting economic and trade ties among the member states. Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan have joined to form the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), which is schedule to come to existence on January 1.

RUSSIA - PAKISTAN SIGN AGREEMENT FOR DEFENCE COOPERATION

Islamabad - Pakistan and Russia have signed agreement for defence cooperation. Prime Minister Nawaz says Russian companies can take advantage of investment opportunities in infrastructure and energy sector.Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said Pakistan wants to promote multi-dimensional relations with Russia including defence.
