NORWAY & UNODC SIGN AGREEMENT TO SUPPORT POLICE & PROSECUTION IN PUNJAB

Islamabad –The Norway Government and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) signed an agreement today on Norway's contribution of NOK 9,000,000 (USD 1.1 Million approx.) for over a period of three years. This funding will assist UNODC to carryout activities to enhance the capacity in two divisions ofPunjabPolice and Prosecution Departments namely Gujranwala and Rawalpindi. The agreement was signed by the Country Representative of UNODC, Mr. Cesar Guedes, and by the Ambassador of Norway, H.E.Mr. Tore Nedrebo. 

Norway and Agha Khan Cultural Service Sign Agreement to Conserve Shah Burj Walled City Lahore

Islamabad-The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Agha Khan Cultural Service Pakistan have agreed to work together on a new project, Economic and Social Development through Conservation of Shah Burj in the Walled City of Lahore.

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, New Honorary Consul General Norway at Karachi

Islamabad-Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, renown "Acid Throwing Victims " Documentary producer  has been invested as the new honorary consul general of the Kingdom of Norway in Karachi. Ms. Obaid Chinoy takes over from Mr. Muhammad Moonis, who is retiring after 38 years as the consul general of Norway in Karachi.

Pakistan Initiates Project for Safeguarding the Culture of Kalash Community - Official Appreciates UNESCO, NORWAY & SERENA'S EXHIBITION

Islamabad; 27 Sep 2016 - Federal Secretary Ministry of Culture and Heritage has said that Government of Pakistan  in collaboration with UNESCO and within the Framework of UNESCO’s 2003 convention has initiated a project for safeguarding and documenting the cultural practices of Kalasha Community.

Islamabad -Ambassador of Norway to Pakistan H.E. Mr. Tore Nedreb called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif along with a group of investors from the Norwegian energy sector. Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif expressed his condolences to the Norwegian Ambassador on the death of late Ambassador of Norway to Pakistan Mr. Leif Larson who died in a helicopter crash in Naltar Valley this year. The Prime Minister lauded the services of the late Mr. Leif Larson in consolidating Pak-Norway bilateral relations.
