Islamabad - Tazeen Akhtar - Mr. Ali Santel is the new Ambassador of Turkish Republic of North Cyprus to Pakistan. He has vast experience in international relations as he was previously a businessman doing business with different countries. Thus he had opportunities to meet different people from a common man to high ups in those countries. When TRNC Government asked him to serve his country as their representative to the world, it was a turning point in his life.

President Eroğlu : “Anastasiadis should return to the negotiation table without any preconditions”

Lefkosa - President DervisEroğlu who came together with the Assembly Platform composed of political parties represented at the General Assembly evaluated the latest developments at the Cyprus negotiations and emphasized once again that as the Greek Cypriot leader Anastasiades did not consult them when abandoning the table he should return to the table without putting forward any preconditions.

CYPRUS PROBLEM SHOULD COME TO END - WE NEED URGENT SOLUTION -EROGLU

Lefkosa - President Derviş Eroğlu recorded that the Cyprus negotiations are being continued without putting forward any precondition with the aim of reaching a positive conclusion and stressed that even if the Greek side does not need a solution Turkish side needs urgent solution of the problem.

REUNITED CYPRUS AGREED FOR FURTHER TALKS BETWEEN GREEKS AND TURKS

Nicosia (Monitoring Desk + Staff Reporter) Leaders of ethnically split Cyprus agreed to work towards a new system of power sharing on Last Tuesday, in a bid to end a bitter and long-running conflict.
Representatives of the island’s two largest ethnic groups, Greeks and Turks, said they would seek to forge a two-zone federation reuniting the island, which has been split for decades.

TURK CYPRIOTS ROLE IN CYPRUS IS A MUST - SAYS EX US SPOKESPERSON

Washington-Ex-Spokesperson of the USA Department of State Matthew Bryza expressed that natural gas pipeline which is planned to reach Europe through Eastern Mediterranean can pass from Turkey and added that this is the least costly and most efficient way.

Indicating that Turkish Cypriots should also have effective role in the energy studies in Eastern Mediterranean Bryza said: “Turkish Cypriots should also have a role in deciding about the economic future of Cyprus. This role should be determined as soon as possible”

TRNC HEADLINES - Our Main Aim is Reaching A Solution - Eroglu

Lefkosa (Monitoring) Stating that there are two people in Cyprus who try to reach a solution in Cyprus, President Dervis Eroğlu said that solution to be reached in Cyprus should be permanent and viable. President Eroğlu indicated that Turkish Cypriot people should adopt such a solution.
‘Our main aim is to reach a solution by taking into consideration the realities of the island and not ignoring what we lived in the past’ the President added.
President Eroğlu also pointed to the fact that a solution in Cyprus does not only depend on the Turkish Cypriot side.

TRNC IS REMEMBERING 21-25 DECEMBER STRUGGLE AND MARTYRS WEEK

Lefkosa (Diplomatic Desk) The 21-25th of December will be commemorated as the ‘Struggle and Martyrs Week’ throughout the TRNC.A series of events will take place throughout the Republic within the framework of the ceremonies for commemorating the martyrs on the anniversary of the launch of attacks against the Turkish Cypriots by the Greek Cypriots and Greeks on the 21st of December 1963.

Eroglu ready to sit at the table without any preconditions

Lefkosa (Diplomatic Desk) President Derviş Eroğlu and the Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades came together for a meeting at the Chateau Status Restaurant in the UN Controlled Buffer Zone last night.Following the meeting which continued about 3 hours, the two leaders made their separate statements to the press.
