Italy assures unwavering support to democracy and sustainable development in Pakistan

Islamabad ( Staff Reporter )The Ambassador of Italy Adriano Chiodi Cianfarani called on Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Wednesday.Talking to the Ambassador, the Speaker said that Pakistan values high its relations with Italy and desires to further strengthen it through people-to-people and parliamentary contacts.

He asked the Ambassador to energize the engagement between business community of the both the countries especially in energy sector to overcome the prevalent energy scarcity in the country.

Pakistan and Italy sign strategic engagement plan

ROME, FEB 01 (Diplomatic Reporter+DNA) -Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi di Sant' Agata signed a Strategic Engagement Plan on Friday in Rome, Italy to further cement and expand the multifarious ties between the two countries.

Foreign Minister Khar visited Italy on the invitation of her Italian counterpart. The agreement which was concluded following consultations between the two Foreign Ministers represents an important landmark in Pakistan-Italy bilateral relationship.

Major gas field discovered in Pakistan- Claims Italian Company

ROME: Italian energy major ENI said on Wednesday it had discovered a major reserve of between 300 billion and 400 billion cubic feet of gas some 350 kilometres north of Karachi in Pakistan.The discovery was made in the Khirtar Fold Belt region close to the ENI-operated Bhit gas processing facility, the company said in a statement.
