ITALY & UNESCO SIGN AGREEMENT TO SUPPORT GIRLS' RIGHT TO EDUCATION IN PAKISTAN

Islamabad, Thursday, 7 September 2017: In the presence of the Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, Mohammad Baligh-ur-Rehman, and Additional Secretary, Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and Natural Heritage, Syed Junaid Akhlaq, UNESCO and the Government of Italy signed an agreement of approximately USD 1.7 million to enable UNESCO to implement a two-year project titled “Support to girls’ right to education and safeguarding cultural heritage through education in Pakistan”.

Italy to provide Rs 5.7 bln loan to Pakistan

Islamabad (Staff Reporter) Italy has pledged its support to Pakistan for poverty eradication and development of education sector.Italian Ambassador Adriano Chiodi Cianfarani called on Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Sunday. Both discussed matters related to bilateral relations.The ambassador said his country believes in expanding its bilateral ties with Pakistan. He announced Italy will provide 5.7 billion rupees loan to Pakistan for the development of education and poverty reduction.

Islamabad ( Staff Reporter )The Ambassador of Italy Adriano Chiodi Cianfarani called on Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Wednesday.Talking to the Ambassador, the Speaker said that Pakistan values high its relations with Italy and desires to further strengthen it through people-to-people and parliamentary contacts.

He asked the Ambassador to energize the engagement between business community of the both the countries especially in energy sector to overcome the prevalent energy scarcity in the country.
