GERMANY AND UNDP PARTNER TO SUPPORT DISPLACED PERSONS

Islamabad - Cyrill Nunn, German Ambassador to Pakistan, and Marc-Andre Franche, Country Director of UNDP in Pakistan, signed an agreement of 1 million euros at the German Embassy today to support the rehabilitation and return of displaced persons from the North Waziristan Agency of FATA. Tariq Orakzai, Director General of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also attended the signing agreement.

GERMANY ACKNOWLEDGES SERVICES OF MR. ANEES UR REHMAN

Islamabad-On the evening of 27 September 2014, Mr Anees ur Rehman, German Honorary Consul in Lahore, was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon by Ambassador Dr Cyrill Nunn.

The award was presented at a dinner held at the residence of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Islamabad.

During the ceremony, Mr Anees ur Rehman was acknowledged with great applause for the many years of performance as German Honorary Consul and his singular efforts to foster German-Pakistani relations.

GERMANY FOR EMPOWERING WOMEN OF PAKISTAN

Islamabad: The German Ambassador, Dr. Cyril Nunn, and the CEO of “White Ribbon Campaign Pakistan” Omer Aftab, signed a contract for a project addressing the issue of violence against women here on 22 September 2014.  

GERMANY OFFERS HELP TO ADDRESS THE ANNUAL FLOODS

Islamabad – “Germany and Pakistan are very good partners in many fields. Our strategic dialogue will help to intensify these relations,” Germany’s Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Ederer said during his visit in Pakistan today. He also underscored Germany is ready to help Pakistan to address the root causes and symptoms of the human suffering through annual floods.
 

Economic Forum “GATE-Pakistan” Launched in Berlin

Berlin:  German Association of Trade & Economy-Pakistan (GATE-Pakistan) has been launched in a ceremony held at German Foreign Office here in Berlin today. It is an Economic Forum established with the support of German Foreign Office and the Board of Investment, Government of Pakistan for providing extensive knowledge and key local contacts in Pakistan to German investors with special focus on medium and small size enterprises for establishing their Business Houses and Manufacturing Units in Pakistan.

79 PAKISTANI SCHOLARS ON THEIR WAY TO GERMANY

Islamabad - German Ambassador Dr. Cyrill Nunn bid farewell to 79 new scholars funded by HEC and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) who will start their PhD research and Master courses at German universities in the coming months. The event at the German Embassy Islamabad was joined by Ms. Ursula Saarbeck, Director of the DAAD Office in Islamabad.

President of German Parliament Prof. Dr. Norbert Lammert visits Pakistan

Islamabad-Prof. Dr. Norbert Lammert, President of the German Parliament, concluded his three day visit to Pakistan today. Dr. Lammert, who is the second highest representative of the Federal Republic of Germany after the German Federal President, had come to Pakistan on the invitation of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan.
