Germany and Pakistan intensify development cooperation: 106 Million $ for future programs

Islamabad (Staff Reporter)Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Martin Kobler and Secretary of the Economic Affairs Division (EAD) Arif Ahmed Khan signed two agreements on 31 October 2017 regarding development cooperation with a total volume of 91.7 Mio. EURO (about 106 million USD)

Ambassador Kobler highlighted the progress already made within the development cooperation and the friendly relations existing between Germany and Pakistan. He said,

Siemens signs agreement order for the supply of 50 MW wind farm in Pakistan

Islamabad: The German companySiemens Gamesa has secured an order from the independent power producer Zephyr Power for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of a 50 MW windfarm in Gharo, in the district of Thatta.

Installation of the turbines at the Zephyr Power wind farm project is scheduled to begin towards the end of 2017 with the project slated for commissioning in August 2018.

109 million EURO for development! A Joint Declaration of Intent

Islamabad: On the occasion of the visit of the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Dr. Gerd Müller, to Pakistan, a Joint Declaration of Intent was signed between between the Ministry of Finance of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany on Pakistan-German Development Cooperation.

Germany, Netherlands and Pakistan support living wages in the Asian textile industry

Islamabad - The Pakistani Government, in close collaboration with the Government of the Netherlands and the Government of Germany has organized the Asian Living Wage Conference (ALWC), held on May 25 to 26, 2016 in Islamabad, Pakistan.

GERMANY FOCUSING ON RENEWABLE ENERGIES AFTER SUPPORTING MAJOR HYDRO PROJECTS - INA LEPEL

Islamabad (Commerce Reporter ) H.E. Ms. Ina Lepel, Ambassador of Germany said that Germany has financially supported major hydropower projects and upgradation of distribution system in Pakistan and it was currently focusing on renewable energies and energy efficiency in Pakistan including consultancy for individual enterprises on energy conservation in their production processes. She said the Pakistan-German Renewable Energy Forum will open soon for business.

GERMAN DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION: EURO 125.7 MILLION SUPPORT FOR FC/TC 2012, FC/TC 2013 SIGNED

Islamabad: March 4, 2016-Secretary EAD, Tariq Bajwa and German Ambassador Ina Lepel here on Friday signed four Financing Agreements i.e. Financial Cooperation Agreement 2012 & 2013 (Euro 91 million) and Technical Cooperation Agreement 2012 & 2013 (Euro 34.7 million), totaling 125.7 million Euros for development cooperation to Pakistan. In this amount  98.7 million Euros are given as grant and 27 million Euros as loan. 

German archaeological activities in Sindh – visit to Mohenjodaro

Islamabad – Professor Michael Jansen from RWTH Aachen University and Dr. Dan Tidten, Head of Press and Cultural Section from the German Embassy Islamabad, visited the archaeological sites of Mohenjodaro in Sindh today. They met the members of the Technical Consultative Committee (TCC), National Fund for Mohenjo-Daro.
