اسلام آباد (23ستمبر2015ء): فرانس سفارتخانے کی کونسلر برائے تعاون و ثقافتی امور مارٹین حیرلم حامیدی نے فرنچ زبان کی اہمیت اجاگر کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ دنیا بھر کی 29آزاد مملکتوں، اقوامِ متحدہ، نیٹو، یورپی یونین، یونیسکو ، انٹرنیشنل اولمپکس ، ریڈ کراس سمیت دیگر عالمی اداروں کی سرکاری و دفتری زبان فرنچ میں مہارت ترقی کے وسیع مواقع فراہم کرتی ہے۔

Islamabad - In the framework of the “Open Doors” program jointly led by the Embassy of France and the Alliances françaises of Lahore and Karachi, French researcher Pascal Boniface is touring Pakistan and giving several lectures in Karachi and Islamabad from 15th to 18th of September, 2015.

Dr. Pascal BONIFACE is the founding Director of the French Institute for International and Strategic Affairs – IRIS, based in Paris.

Islmabad - The Embassy of France in Pakistan will be organizing a film festival ‘A French Filmmakers Perspective’ in Islamabad on the 21st and 22nd of November 2014. The festival introduces the new generation of French directors’ featured films inspired by social aspects of South Asia. Two recent films will be screened on the evenings of Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd of November at the Embassy of France:


Islamabad - Ms. Nargis Sethi, Secretary of Economic Affairs Division (EAD), His Excellency Mr. Philippe Thiébaud, Ambassador of France, and Mr. Denis CASSAT, Country Director of the French Development Agency (AFD), signed the Credit Facility Agreements (CFAs) for the establishment of Pakistan 02 Hydropower projects.

This financing aims at completing the 02 hydropower projects with a total capacity to produce 785 MW.

French Ambassador reiterates importance of Women MDGs

Islamabad - The French Embassy to Pakistan organized a reception on the 7th of March to celebrate the International Women’s Day with prominent Pakistani women, including human rights activists, artists, scholars and independent workers. The event also gathered media representatives and foreign diplomats.

The Ambassador of France, HE Philippe Thiébaud, praised the courage and the continuous efforts of the women and men working in Pakistan to protect women’s rights, campaign for new laws and raise awareness about violence against women.


Islamabad- Philippe Thiébaud, the Ambassador of France in Pakistan hosted a reception at his residence on the occasion of the award of the National Order of Merit to Major General Rahmat Khan, who has been the Managing Director of Lafarge Pakistan since January 2008 and non executive Chairman of Board of Directors of Lafarge Pakistan since January 2013. The National Order of Merit is an order of the State awarded by the President of the French Republic, which was founded in 1963 by President Charles de Gaulle to reward French and foreign nationals for distinguished achievements.


Islamabad-The French Embassy Fiction Prize was received by Uzma Aslam Khan on Friday 7th February 2014 for her book « Thinner than skin ». The Ambassador of France Philippe Thiébaud has awarded the prize to the Pakistani writer during the fifth edition of the Karachi Literature Festival that took place from the 7th until the 9th February.

“Needs based Scholarship programme” - France announces the grant of Rs40 million to support a 200 scholarships programme

Islamabad (Education Reporter) Government of France through its Embassy in Pakistan has announced the grant of Rs40 million to support a 200 scholarships programme for needy university students at undergraduate and graduate level. This is the second phase of the programme that has already been financed in 2012 by the French government. In close collaboration with the Higher Education Commission and 10 Pakistani universities, these scholarships will be granted to the meritorious but unprivileged students.
