EU envoy meets politicians in Quetta- Balochistan internal issue of Pakistan-Lars Gunnar Wigemark

QUETTA: Monday, February 27, 2012--Ambassador European Union to Pakistan Lars Gunnar Wigemark had a meeting with the leaders of nationalist political parties and representatives of civil society in Quetta on Sunday.During the meeting, the issues related to Balochistan’s development and the overall situation of the province came under discussion. A delegation of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), Balochistan chapter led by its vice Chairman, Tahir Hussain advocate, also called on the European Union envoy.

Pakistan to earn additional Euro 100 mln annually thanks to WTO waiver

ISLAMABAD, Feb 3 (APP): The waiver by the World Trade Organization (WTO)of duty to the Pakistani products will have positive impact on the exports as Pakistan would be able to earn extra Euro 100 million per year.According to an official of the Ministry of Textile Industry, the the net impact of WTO waiver will increase the export of valued added textile products.He said that the total export volume would be increased by 20 per cent.



EU and UNDP supported Command, Control and Communication Centre in PDMA inaugurated.

Lahore, 28th January 2012 – In the presence of the Chief Minister Punjab, H.E. Shahbaz Sharif, Ambassador, Head of Delegation, European Union H.E Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, Dr. Zafar Iqbal Qadir, Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Mr. Toshihiro Tanaka, Country Director, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Command, Control and Communication Centre at the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab was inaugurated today.


Islamabad: January 12, 2012: Lord Green, UK Minister of State for Trade and Investment, today made a speech to members of the Karachi School for Business & Leadership about the role of education in the UK and Pakistan’s trade relationship.


Speaking at the British Deputy High Commission in Karachi, Lord Green highlighted the strategic partnership between the Karachi School for Business & Leadership with the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge.


Pakistan wants to boost strategic partnership with UK: PM


ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday said that Pakistan wanted to enhance strategic partnership with the UK and also to expand trade relations to new heights for which conducive environment existed between the two countries.

He was talking to British Minister for Trade and Investment Lord Green and Baroness Saeeda Warsi, who called on him here at the Prime Minister House.
