“Crisis in the Maldives: The Beginning of an Indo-Chinese Chess Match”

Areeba Arif - Maldives has been thrust into a major political crisis on February 2, after the Supreme Court in a surprise development ordered the government to release 12 members of the parliament who were stripped off their posts and held by the government under different charges.[1] This judgment pushed Maldives into a new political turmoil as the government of Abdulla Yameen refused to respect the court order and announced 15 days of state emergency.

Pakistan asked to make CPEC part of its National Strategy

Yao Jing, Ambassador of China said that Pakistan should make CPEC a part of its national strategy as it would contribute to its long-term economic development as well as the development of the whole region. He was speaking as a Chief Guest at a seminar on “CPEC: A Win-Win Project” jointly organized by Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry and an Institute. The Chinese envoy said that CPEC was a win-win project for Pakistan and China and it would further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

PAKISTANI BUSINESS COMMUNITY TAKE ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN CPEC PROJECTS - YAO JING

He was talking to a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry that called on him in his office led by President Sheikh Amir Waheed.
