Islamabad-The Brazilian writer Bernardo Carvalho was invited by the Brazilian Embassy to deliver a lecture at KuchKhaas, on Contemporary Brazilian Literature, in Islamabad, and to participate in the Karachi Literature Festival. He is the first Brazilian writer to take part of the Festival and the only Latin American representative in the event.

Fourth Festival of Brazilian Cinema in Pakistan

Islamabad (Diplomatic Desk) The Embassy of Brazil in Islamabad is proud to present the IV Exhibition of Brazilian Cinema in Pakistan, which will take place from November 07 to 10 (from 6:00 p.m. on), at the Embassy (House 1, Street 72, F-8/3). The Embassy will showcase three awarded Brazilian movies, recently launched, representing different styles and approaches of the Brazilian cinema scene, and also, in collaboration with the Embassy of Cuba in Islamabad, an awarded Cuban Movie.

Brazilian Corner inaugurated at Quaid-i-Azam Central Library

Islamabad (Staff Reporter) The Ambassador of Brazil, H.E. Alfredo Leoni, has inaugurated, together with the Vice-Chancellor of Quaid-i-Azam University, Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, the Brazilian Corner at the Central Library of the University. The Embassy of Brazil donated more than 300 Brazilian books in English and almost 100 books in Portuguese language on Brazil, as well as DVDs and journals, which will be accommodated in the corner. The beautiful space, in the second floor of the Library, is also equipped with a modern studying area and computers.

Brazil was the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic relations with Pakistan (1948) and the first Latin American country to open an Embassy in this country (1952).

Mr. Jamil is also Commercial Advisor to the Embassy of Brazil in Islamabad.
