Ambassador of Brazil visits Pakistan Thalassemia Centre

Islamabad, March 7, 2016-Ambassador of Brazil in Pakistan Claudio Lins along with his wife Zu Lins visited Pakistan Thalassemia Centre, Fatima Jinnah Park, Islamabad. Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh welcomed them and gave a detailed briefing about the ongoing projects of PBM.  Respected guests were informed that Pakistan Thalassemia Centre (PTC) was extending quality healthcare facilities free of charge to the poor thalassemia patients of the country.

The Zika virus disease, relatively unknown throughout the world, was identified for the first time in Brazil in 2015, after the outbreak in the French Polynesia in 2014. Although the virus has been known for some decades, this is a completely new situation in terms of international public health and also for the international scientific community. Until 2014, there were records of sporadic spread of the Zika virus in Africa, Asia and Oceania.

120 STUDENTS GRADUATED PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE COURSE FROM BRAZIL EMBASSY

Islamabad - The Ambassador of Brazil, H.E. Alfredo Leoni, held a ceremony on January 29th to celebrate the end of another session of the Portuguese Language Course classes at the Embassy. The ceremony was held at the chancery and H.E. delivered certificates to 16 students. Since 2012 more than 120 students graduated.

Islamabad - The official Statement of “Brazilian Government “on the Terrorists attack in Peshawar which was issued on 16-12-2014.

"The Brazilian Government vehemently condemns the attack which took place today in a school in the city of Peshawar, northern Pakistan, causing the death of at least 126 people, including 84 children and adolescents, and leaving more than a hundred people seriously injured.

There is huge potential of further enhancing the already close ties in different fields.

Bolsa Familia Program of Brazil Discussed in Pakistan Income Support Program

Islamabad - Tazeen Akhtar - Dr. Romulo Paes de Sousa, Director World Centre for Sustainable Development, Mr. Yasuhiko Matsuda, Senior Specialist from World Bank and Mr. Iftikhar Malik,Senior Social Protection Specialist, World Bank called on Chairman BISP Enver Baig at BISP Secretariat today. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss matters of mutual cooperation for the benefit of the poorest of the poor population of Pakistan.
