AZERBAIJAN IS KEEN TO BROADEN THE SCOPE OF RELATIONS WITH PAKISTAN-ALI ALIZADE

Islamabad (Monitoring Desk) Ambassador of Azerbaijan, H.E Ali Alizade has said that we are keen to enhance the canvas of our relations by strengthening people to people contact and broaden the scope of our economic and cultural relations. Azerbaijan hosted the First European Games two years ago, while at the same time we hosted the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games this year.

This year we celebratethe 99th anniversary of foundation of The Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan. On May 28, 1918, Azerbaijan declared its independence establishing the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, which became the first secular parliamentary democracy in the entire East and was recognized by other democratic nations.

Islamabad (Tazeen Akhtar) Azerbaijan and Pakistan are enjoying 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations with a determination that both countries will further enhance and strengthen their already present cordial and close ties in all fields. Moreover it was also the Republic Day of Azerbaijan.  In that connection, Ambassador Ali Alizade hosted  a grand reception at a local hotel. 10th of May this year is the 94th birth anniversary of late Heydar Alirza oglu Aliyev, national leader of Azerbaijan and founder of Azerbaijan’s relations with Pakistan. He was born on May 10, 1923, in Nakhchivan City of Azerbaijan.

Islamic Solidarity Games Baku 2017-Few Days to Go

For few days to go to the games the flashmob of over 200 youngsters was organized jointly by Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games and "Icherisheher" State Historical-Architectural Administration.

The main purpose of the event was to celebrate 25 days to go to Baku-2017 Games as well as increase public awareness about the games and develop atmosphere of the Games.

Islamabad(Staff Reporter)The Khojaly genocide of the 20th century is one of the most serious crimes in history not only against the people of Azerbaijan but humanity as a whole. This was stated by H.E. Ali Alizada, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during his keynote address, at a Seminar on “Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing – Khojaly 25” organised by the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) in collaboration with the Embassy of Azerbaijan today.

During the fall of the USSR, at the end of the last century, the Armenian nationalists raised territorial claims against Azerbaijan demanding Nagorno-Karabakh, which was an autonomous territory within Azerbaijan with the majority of Armenians. Clashes began in Nagorno-Karabakh and moreover, beginning from 1988, more than 200 thousand of Azerbaijanis were expelled from their homelands in Armenia. The then leader of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev backed Armenian separatists instead of calming down the tension.
