Pakistan, Norway exchange views on anti-terrorism

Islamabad ( Staff Reporter )The Ambassador of Norway in Pakistan Ms Cecilie Landsverk called on the Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, here Friday.In the meeting the Federal Minister and the Ambassador exchanged views on bilateral issues including cooperation in law and order and anti- terrorism.

The Minister underlined that Pakistan highly values its relations with Norway. He praised the Social Security System, Democratic Norms and Rule of Law in Norway. He added that the Democratic government of PML-N is keen to work closely with the Norwegian Government to strengthen existing bilateral cooperation to the mutual benefit for the people of both countries.

The Federal Minister said that both countries should explore the possibility of mutual cooperation in capacity building of Law Enforcement Agencies especially Police and FIA.

The Ambassador thanked the Interior Minister for his welcome and assured him of all possible support and technical cooperation in strengthening the capabilities of Police and other Law Enforcement Agencies.

The Ambassador also praised the positive role of Norwegians of Pakistani origin in the economic development of Norway and said that Norwayviews this contribution with great respect.
