Pakistan, Kazakhstan sign agreement, MoU for cooperation in defense, trade

ASTANA -  Pakistan and Kazakhstan on Wednesday signed an Agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for

cooperation in the areas of defense and trade, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and President Nursultan

Nazarbayev witnessed the signing of documents.The two leaders also signed a Joint Communique at the

conclusion of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's two-day official visit to Kazakhstan.

   

  The Agreement on Training of Military Personnel of the Armed Forces was signed by Pakistan's Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Abdul Salik Khan and senior official of the Ministry of Defence of Kazakhstan.

     

The Agreement envisages expanding bilateral military relations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan. Signing of this agreement would

further boost the ongoing defence cooperation between the two countries.It will provide a framework for imparting training to military personnel as per the agreed arrangement.

 The agreement will further help both sides in sharing the experience in the field of military training. MoU for Setting Up of Joint Business Council (JBC) between the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan (CICK) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPPCI) was signed by Chairman FPCCI Muhammad Idrees and the Chairman of (CICK).

 

The MoU was aimed at establishing a cooperation body on a private initiative to maintain and facilitate continuous interaction between the two chambers.

 

It will help increase trade and economic cooperation on a large scale between the two countries. The MoU will further serve the purpose to carry out more

systemically business promotional activities and trade, investment,technology transfer, services and other industries.

      

The JBC will also provide regular and recognized forum for discussion and promotion of such activities between the businessmen

and industries of the two countries.
