Demonstration and Candle Light Vigil Held in Berlin

Berlin- A demonstration and Candle Light Vigil was held at city center, Kuerfurstendamm in Berlin today to condemn the brutal act of terrorism in a School in the city of Peshawar on December 16 and express solidarity with the bereaved families whose innocent children and near relatives lost their lives. People from a cross sections of the German Society including Pakistani community participated in the demonstration despite bad weather.

They raised slogans to condemn this heinous crime and called for a support to the people and the Government of Pakistan in their fight against terrorism. They were holding placards with the slogans stating, "Terrorists have no religion nor any nationality" and "We Stand United against Terrorism". While speaking to the gathering, the representatives of the Pakistani community said that the terrorists were the enemies of humanity and all the nations should extend their support to Pakistan in its struggle to overcome this menace. They thanked the people and the German Government for their unflinching support to Pakistan in this regard. They lit the candles in front of photographs of the students who were killed in this barbaric act of terrorism and paid homage to innocent martyrs.
