Islamabad(Tazeen Akhtar)Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Alzaabi hosted a grand and magnificent reception on  46th National Day of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 02 Dec 2017 at Serena Hotel Islamabad. It was the first reception since the Ambassador assumed his assignment to Pakistan. A young, smart, good looking and very soft spoken envoy with warm feelings and charming smile on his face was a pleasant experience for the guests who attended the reception in large number expressing their allegiance to brotherly country.

Federal Minister for Water and Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari was the chief guest. He congratulated UAE government and nation on their auspicious day. He said that Pakistan is keen to strengthen relations and cooperation with UAE in all sectors. He said that 1.5 Million Pakistanis are working in UAE. Pakistan and UAE are enhancing mutual ties in trade, investment and other areas. He expressed his best wishes for the new envoy and assured his full cooperation in performing his duties.

Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Alzaabi, in his address, shed light on the progress of his country since it came into being way back in 1971. He also highlighted the relationship between Pakistan and the UAE during these years. He underscored that Pakistan and the UAE cooperated with each other whenever they needed each other’s assistance. 

He expressed hope that the ties would further strengthen in years to come. National Security Advisor (NSA) to the Prime Minister Lieutenant-General (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua, Lieutenant-General (retd) Talat Masood, Dr Anwarul Haq, PTI leader Dr Shahzad Waseem, Abdullah Gul, Alama Tahir Ashrafi, Chaudhary Munir Ahmad and Spokesperson of the Foreign Office Dr Muhammad Faisal Chaudhry were among the prominent guests. 

Some Arab youths displayed traditional Arab dance on the tune of their country’s music.
